Inspiration from Nature

Posted in Uncategorized on November 25, 2009 by clareknoxbentham

I’ve just seen this amazing picture of a Glass Frog with see through skin and it’s inspiring me to make something. The shiny sheen of the skin and the beautiful transparent skin is just astounding.

I don’t know who the photographer is so I can’t credit them – if you know or you were the photographer, please let me know.

‘BRIGHT/LIGHT’ exhibition at Kath Libbert Gallery until 31st Jan

Posted in Uncategorized on November 22, 2009 by clareknoxbentham

Jewellery and new wallhanging pieces are included in the ‘Bright/Light’ show at the Kath Libbert Jewellery Gallery in Salts Mill at Saltaire, Bradford until 31st January 2010. All works are for sale.

Check out images of my work, my profile and CV at Kath’s website as well as works by other jewellers such as the lovely Hanni Ramsay, talented Deana Baker and rising star Lina Peterson. It’s a great show and well worth a visit, especially as Salts Mill is such a lovely place to shop and browse.

Thanks to Kath for these great pictures of some of the wall hangings in situ in the gallery.

Also, here is a review of the show in the Yorkshire Post with the fabulous Bex modelling one of my chokers.

Hello world!

Hello, this is my first posting on my new blog. I am a designer/maker/craftsperson/jeweller – in other words I make all sorts of things that I think are interesting.

I like to subvert the use of everyday materials to make something different. I like the viewer to be a little confused and curious about the media and to fascinate and engage them into how I’ve changed the context of the material used.
