My lovely friend Tania Sneesby, who’s a talented textile artist and illustrator, now has her beautiful brooches being sold through the fab online shop Clothkits! Tania makes beautiful textile illustrations of fairy stories and family life. Here’s some pictures I took of her work at last year’s Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate.

I love these Olive Oyl shoes by Kobi Levi although I’d be quite happy with any of his wonderful sculptural shoes!  Genius.

Working With Schools

Since The Great Northern Craft Fair, I’ve spent most of the winter working on mural projects and delivering workshops in schools.

In this project, the main idea was to show the children that you don’t need lots of expensive equipment to make art, but that you can make something creative out of all sorts of junk you might find at home. The mural was made from thousands of milk bottle tops and handprints and drawings that the kids had made.

At another school, I ran drawing workshops to create a mural based on the theme ‘Our City, Our Community’. The childrens drawings were absolutely fabulous and gave me great source material for the mural:

I particularly LOVE this car, drawn by a Year 1 child. Fab!

Here is the mural I produced based on their work:
